Darryl Sittler
Former Maple Leaf, Darryl SittlerDarryl Sittler was the captain for the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1975 to 1982. In his first season with the Leafs he got 41 goals and 59 assists. He was the first Maple Leaf to reach the 100 point mark. Sittler set the NHL record in 1976 for the most points in a single game. In a game against Boston Sittler scored 6 goals and got 4 assists, with a tally of 10 points with the Leafs winning the game 11-4. The record still stands today. Darryl Sittler ended up walking out on the Leafs in 1982 when there was talk on him being traded. The franchise was taking a long time to make a decision and Sittler said is was “mentally depressing”.
